Veneers are a cosmetic treatment similar to dental crowns - whilst crowns replace the majority of the tooth, a veneer is designed to address the front of the tooth instead.
They provide restorative and cosmetic benefits, using porcelain shells carefully crafted to cover the tooth surface, addressing chips, cracks, decay or discolouration to hone and perfect your smile. Our dentists listen to your needs, so we can work together to ensure the results are impeccable.
Cosmetic dentistry has advanced tremendously over the last 10 years; porcelain veneers boast better longevity than ever before, and provide stain resistance too, so you can be certain your teeth will look bright and stay strong long after your procedure.
The colour of the veneer is up to you; you can opt for a natural look if you're happy with the colour of the rest of your teeth, or you can undergo a whitening treatment first and select a brighter, whiter veneer to match.
Keep in mind, whitening treatments only work on biological teeth and do not interact with veneers, so make sure you achieve the shade you want before going ahead with this treatment.
Your dentist will carry out a full dental examination including x-rays and impressions to assess the overall health of your mouth. Once you pass the dental examination your dentist will then explain your dental veneer options.
Your dentist will provide a visual mock-up of what the results will look like. Feel free to provide feedback to your dentist, to ensure you get exactly what you want.
A thin layer of enamel will be removed from each tooth to create a base for the veneer to be bonded to. This is a painless procedure to make sure the veneers do not impede your normal bite function, otherwise your teeth would end up too large for your mouth!
