Veneers

If you have chips, cracks or discolouration on the tooth surface, Smart Dental Care can fix these imperfections with a dental veneer to provide you with renewed confidence in your smile.

Veneers are a protective, hard-wearing layer over the front of the teeth which blends in seamlessly with your other teeth.

Just like with crowns and implants, you can opt for a natural look if you're happy with the colour of your teeth, or you can undergo a whitening treatment first and select a brighter shade of veneer to match.

Veneers are made of ceramic or porcelain, offering maximum longevity and stain resistance, so you can be sure your teeth will look bright and stay strong long after your procedure.

Veneers can be carefully made to reduce the appearance of gaps or minor misalignment too.

Step 1

Your dentist will carry out a dental examination including x-rays to assess the overall health of your mouth.

Step 2

Your dentist will take impressions of your teeth and provide a visual representation of what the final results will look like. When you’re happy with the results and happy to go ahead, your dentist will prepare the tooth to be treated.

Step 3

A thin layer of enamel will be removed from each tooth to create a base for the veneer to be bonded to. This is a painless procedure to make sure the veneers do not make your teeth larger than normal and affect your bite. Your new veneer will then be cemented onto the tooth.

Is there any drilling involved?
The only time adjustments will be made to your teeth will be to alter the shape, to allow the veneer to fit properly. This is minimal and doesn’t hurt or affect your teeth during or after the treatment.
Do I need special treatment to keep my veneers clean?
It is recommended that you visit the dental hygienist 4 times a year for proper maintenance. This is the recommendation for any cosmetic dental treatment, this ensures functionality and oral health is perfect.
