Enrolling with an NHS dentist gives you access to essential preventive care. Follow these simple steps to safeguard your registration and enjoy consistent NHS dental care:
Attend Every Appointment
· Be Punctual: Arriving on time maximises your clinician’s schedule and prevents delays for other patients.
· Don’t Miss Your Appointment : If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so at least 48 hours in advance via our online form or by calling reception.
Book Your Next Visit Before You Leave
· Stay on Schedule: Whether your recall interval is three, six, nine, or twelve months, secure your follow-up appointment before you walk out the door.*
· Set Reminders: Use calendar alerts, phone alarms, or sticky notes—whatever keeps you on track.
Avoid Lapses Over Two Years
· Why It Matters: NHS practices review patient lists regularly. If more than two years pass without a check-up, you may be removed from the NHS list.
· Our Advice: Follow your dentist’s recommended recall interval and book early to protect your registration.
Keep Your Contact Details Up to Date
· Ensure Delivery: We send reminders by text, email, and post. If your address, phone number, or email changes, let us know right away so you continue receiving appointment updates.
Help Loved Ones Stay Registered
· Care for Others: If you’re assisting an older family member or someone with special needs, help them manage their appointments and contact information too.
By sticking to these simple steps, you’ll safeguard your registration and enjoy consistent NHS dental care. If you have any questions or need to make a change to your bookings, please get in touch—we’re here to help!
To help reduce missed appointments and make the best use of our clinical time, we ask for a small holding fee when booking your NHS appointment. This fee is retained and can be carried over to your next appointment if you rebook with sufficient notice. However, if you do not attend (DNA) or cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, the holding fee will not be refunded. Please note: Two missed or late-cancelled appointments within an 18-month period may result in the loss of your NHS registration with our practice.
