Smiles Dental Care is expanding, and we are excited to welcome a motivated and caring Dental Nurse to join our friendly and professional team.

About Smiles Dental Care

Smiles Dental Care is part of a well-established dental group with 100+ surgeries across 35 practices throughout Northern Ireland and the North West of England. Our Ballymena practice provides high-quality NHS and private dentistry, including general dentistry, cosmetic treatments, implants, aligners, and restorative care.

The Role

This role is ideal for a Dental Nurse who enjoys working as part of a close-knit clinical team and takes pride in delivering excellent patient care.

You will be actively involved chairside, supporting clinicians across a wide range of treatments while helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their visit.

• Full-time or part-time hours available
• Working hours between 8:00am and 7:00pm
• Clinical days Monday to Saturday
• Position initially offered on a zero-hour contract, with the opportunity to move into a permanent role

Final working patterns will be discussed at the interview stage.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Chairside Support

• Providing high-quality chairside assistance to dentists during procedures
• Preparing surgeries, instruments, and materials before and after treatments
• Ensuring strict adherence to cross-infection control and decontamination protocols

Patient Care

• Welcoming and reassuring patients before, during, and after treatment
• Providing post-operative instructions and oral health advice
• Supporting nervous or anxious patients with a calm, professional approach

Clinical Administration

• Maintaining accurate patient records and clinical notes
• Assisting with digital charting, radiographs, and clinical software systems
• Supporting consent processes and compliance with CQC/GDC standards

Practice Support

• Stock control and equipment checks
• Supporting the wider team to ensure smooth daily clinic operations

What We’re Looking For

• Essential: GDC-registered Dental Nurse
• Experience: Previous experience in a dental practice preferred
• Skills: Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach
• Technical Confidence: Comfortable using dental software and digital systems
• Team Player: Reliable, proactive, and positive with a strong work ethic
