ABOUT Dental Crowns
Restore and Protect Your Teeth with Dental Crowns
If you have chips, cracks or discolouration, a dental crown offers a long-lasting solution to restore your tooth’s shape, strength and appearance. At Smart Dental Care, we use high-quality materials to create crowns that look and feel completely natural.
A crown covers the visible portion of the tooth with a durable ceramic or porcelain shell, protecting it from further damage. Once placed, it functions like a natural tooth — restoring strength, bite and confidence.
The crown can also close gaps between teeth and improve overall symmetry. You can choose a natural shade that matches your teeth or opt for a whiter tone after a whitening treatment.

Journey
How Dental Crown Treatment Works
We combine advanced dental technology with expert craftsmanship to create crowns that protect your teeth and enhance your smile’s natural beauty.
Examination & Moulds
Your dentist will assess your oral health, inspect the affected tooth and take a digital scan or impression for the perfect fit.
Tooth Preparation
The damaged tooth is reshaped to make room for the crown. A temporary crown is fitted to protect the tooth while your permanent one is being crafted in our laboratory.
Fitting the Permanent Crown
Once your bespoke crown is ready, your dentist will remove the temporary one and fix your permanent crown securely in place. With proper care, your crown can last up to 15 years.
Bonding Material
Your journey begins with an in-depth consultation. We’ll listen to your concerns, discuss your goals.
TIPS
Post-Treatment Care for Dental Crowns
Proper care helps your dental crown remain strong, clean and natural-looking for many years.
Brush Twice Daily
Use a soft toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste to keep the area around your crown clean.
Floss Carefully
Slide the floss out gently instead of lifting it to avoid dislodging the crown.
Avoid Very Hard Foods
Chewing ice or sticky sweets can damage or loosen your crown.
Attend Regular Check-Ups
Your dentist will monitor your crown’s fit and ensure your bite remains balanced.
Use a Mouthguard if Needed
If you grind your teeth at night, wear a mouthguard to prevent damage.

DENTAL CROWNS
Frequently Asked Questions
At Smart Dental Care, we create high-quality dental crowns that restore both strength and beauty to your smile.
Do I need a dental crown?
If your tooth is weakened, cracked or structurally compromised, a dental crown is often the best way to protect and restore it.
Do I need a crown after a root canal?
Yes. After a root canal, the tooth can become brittle. A crown provides the necessary strength and protection to prevent fractures.
Why does my current crown appear black at the gum line?
This usually happens with older, metal-based crowns. Upgrading to a ceramic or porcelain crown eliminates the dark line and creates a natural, light-reflective result.
How long do dental crowns last?
With proper care and regular dental visits, crowns typically last 10–15 years or longer.
Is the crown procedure painful?
No. The process is carried out under local anaesthetic and is completely comfortable from start to finish.
