Always a pleasure attending drakes dental care. Greeted very well by the receptionist, she's always so friendly and thorough with the answers I need in regards to my treatments. I was seen by a new dentist Dr Hamza for a check up and a clean followed by an appointment for a filling. How long does clear aligner treatment take?
Clear aligner treatment typically takes between 4 and 12 months, depending on the amount of movement required and the position of your teeth. Most patients achieve full results in around 6 months, though noticeable improvements can often be seen much earlier in the process.
Can I have Boutique Whitening if I experience sensitivity?
Yes. Boutique whitening gels are gentle on enamel due to their stabilised pH and inclusion of potassium fluoride. There are also different gel strengths specifically designed to manage sensitivity. We’ll select the most suitable gel for you so you can whiten your teeth comfortably and effectively.
What’s the difference between a dental implant and a bridge?
A dental bridge replaces one or several missing teeth by connecting artificial teeth and securing them to neighbouring teeth or implants.
A dental implant involves placing a replacement root into the jawbone, which is then topped with a crown. Both options effectively restore missing teeth, and bridges can also be attached to implants when needed.
Should I choose a crown, veneer, or implant?
A crown strengthens and protects a tooth that is damaged or weakened internally or externally.
A veneer is ideal for teeth that are structurally sound but have cosmetic imperfections on the front surface, as it only covers the visible portion of the tooth.
An implant is recommended when a tooth is too damaged to support a crown or veneer, replacing the entire tooth — both root and crown.
Does a scale and polish hurt?
A scale and polish should not be painful when carried out by a skilled clinician. Our team is fully trained to provide gentle, effective hygiene treatment that keeps your teeth and gums healthy with minimal discomfort.
